Communications & Events

The Communications and Events Committee is focused on telling
our life science and biotechnology story. Members will support all
three of the other committees in terms of necessary marketing
functions. This committee will also forge partnerships with other
groups, associations and councils related to the industry. Most
importantly, the Communications and Events Committee is responsible
for developing creative means to build the bioOrlando
brand.
OBJECTIVES
- Build local awareness of the depth and breadth of Metro
Orlando's life science industry.
- Build awareness and support for bioOrlando.
- Educate Florida legislators about the infrastructure
requirements of the state's growing life science industry. Build
support for funding key initiatives with the ability to impact this
industry's growth in our state.
- Serve as an information clearinghouse for the region's life
science and biotechnology industry.
- Work with the Metro Orlando EDC’s public relations team to
collect and disseminate information about the region’s life
science/biotechnology industry to media on local, national and
international basis.
- Develop talking points and key messages to be shared with
Florida legislators. Determine process through which that
information will be shared with legislators.
- Implement and publicize local, regional, national, and
international efforts to create new relationships and market life
science and biotechnology activities.
- Use life science and biotechnology resource information for
active publicity and strategic marketing.
- Develop and maintain an active website, brochures, and other
bioOrlando marketing materials.
- Work closely with all bioOrlando committees to support
communication needs, especially to publicize programs and
outcomes.
