The chair members from each of the three committees comprise the bioOrlando Steering Committee. Each steering committee member will play an important role in increasing awareness and growing the sector. This committee also provides the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission's Board of Directors with counsel on important issues and initiatives related to the life science industry.

OBJECTIVES

• Approve the council's mission and vision.
• Approve strategic plans, major policies and actions of the council.
• Annually assess the environment in which the council functions and approve necessary strategy changes.
• Seek opportunities for bioOrlando recognition in Central Florida, the U.S., and internationally.
• Identify contacts to assist with company recruitment and retention.
• Serve as an ambassador and spokesperson for bioOrlando.
• Network with local executives in the community, emphasizing bioOrlando and its importance.
• Be willing to offer aid financially for projects and events.
